Yavapai-Apache Nation members share culture

The Warriorettes from the Nation’s culture department under the direction of Reba Franco performed at the Montezuma Castle Monument in Camp Verde Saturday and Sunday, November 4 and 5. November is recognized as Native American Heritage month for Indigenous people throughout the country with over 500 Native American tribes.

YAN artists Josephine Trujillo basket weaver and Jerry Whagado silversmith and Lionel Honweytewa, graphic artists were part of a contingent of other YAN artists from the community sharing their art.

Martin Loretto, Apache singer from Camp Verde and other singers from YAN provided the songs for the Warriorettes.
