Public Safety Advisory: Rattlesnake Activity

Recent rattlesnake sightings have been reported within the Yavapai-Apache Nation. As temperatures remain warm, community members are encouraged to remain alert and use caution while spending time outdoors.

To help reduce the risk of an encounter:

• Watch where you step and place your hands, especially around rocks, brush, wood piles, and other areas where snakes may be hiding.
• Keep children and pets away from areas where rattlesnakes may be present.
• Do not approach, disturb, or attempt to handle a rattlesnake.
• If you encounter a rattlesnake, remain calm, keep a safe distance, and allow it to move away on its own.
