Community Development Department

The Community Development Department supports the social and economic needs of the Yavapai-Apache Nation through community planning, economic development, infrastructure, facilities maintenance, code enforcement, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The Department works to expand housing and infrastructure opportunities, support economic growth, maintain Nation facilities and offices, and advance projects that strengthen the community. Through these efforts, Community Development promotes Tribal sovereignty, self-sufficiency, and responsible development that serves the long-term needs of the Yavapai-Apache Nation.

Community Development Department Mission & Vision:

1. Introduce a vision for continued growth tailored to the YAN community’s needs while respecting the customs and traditions that make our people thrive.
2. Plan, enact, and promote communal and economic visions that strengthen YAN as a leading development community in the Verde Valley and Indian Country.
3. Reinvest financial viability into economic and social development projects to bolster community morale and vitality.
4. Uphold tribal sovereignty and the right of development to create a self-sufficient economy for the Yavapai-Apache Nation.
