Community Update: Middle Verde Summer Recreation End-of-Program Trip

The Yavapai-Apache Nation is pleased to share that the Middle Verde Summer Recreation Program will travel to Hurricane Harbor Phoenix on Thursday, July 23, for its end-of-program celebration.

This trip was made possible through the fundraising efforts of the youth and Summer Recreation Program during this year’s activities. Over the past several weeks, staff have been working to ensure all transportation, supervision, and safety requirements were in place before approving the trip.

To help address questions we’ve received and provide clarification, please see the information below:

• The trip has been approved and will move forward as planned on Thursday, July 23.
• The trip was made possible through fundraising efforts by the Middle Verde Summer Recreation Program during this year’s activities.
• The delay in confirming the trip allowed staff time to complete required safety planning, transportation arrangements, and staffing requirements before moving forward.
• Approved drivers and qualified chaperones have been identified to help provide a safe and well-supervised experience for participating youth.
• Parents and guardians are welcome to attend and enjoy the day with their children. Families choosing to attend are responsible for their own admission, transportation, and related expenses.
• Only assigned staff and approved chaperones will supervise participating youth during the trip.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as these final details were completed. Our priority throughout this process has been ensuring the trip could move forward safely while following established procedures that help protect participants, families, staff, and the Nation.
