Indigenous Peoples’ Day
A Message from the Executive Office
On Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we honor the generations who have sustained the Yavapai-Apache Nation and the people who continue to shape its future. We celebrate our Yavapai and Apache heritage and reaffirm our responsibility to protect the Nation and serve our community. We also honor the Tribal Nations across the country, alongside Indigenous peoples around the world, recognizing their distinct cultures, histories, and enduring connections to their homelands.
Our ancestors’ determination to remain connected to our homelands and preserve our ways of life continues to guide us. We see that commitment in our elders who share their knowledge, families who pass on traditions, and young people who are carrying that heritage forward.
Today, we celebrate the strength of our people and the ties that connect our community across generations. We share with other Tribal Nations a commitment to protecting our sovereignty and ensuring that our cultures and ways of life remain strong for future generations.
We encourage our people to take time today to honor those who came before us, share their stories, and celebrate the heritage we carry together.
On behalf of the Executive Office, we extend our appreciation and warm wishes to the Yavapai-Apache community, fellow Tribal Nations, and Indigenous peoples everywhere.
