Employment Opportunity – Fuels Technician AmeriCorps Position
The U.S. Forest Service, National Partnership Office, and Ancestral Lands Conservation Corps (ALCC) are seeking applicants for a Fuels Technician AmeriCorps Individual Placement opportunity supporting hazardous fuels reduction projects on National Forest lands.
Position Details
- Position: Fuels Technician, AmeriCorps Individual Placement
- Location: Shawnee National Forest, Illinois
- Housing provided
- Service term: Approximately 46–48 weeks
- Start Date: September 14, 2026
- End Date: August 29, 2027
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- U.S. Citizen, National, or lawful permanent resident
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to complete required training and meet physical requirements
Benefits
- Living allowance of approximately $650 per week
- Additional food stipend of $200 per week
- AmeriCorps Education Award upon successful completion
- Public Land Corps (PLC) Hiring Authority Certificate
