Elevating Native American Voices in Journalism and Media is a unique, hands-on workshop designed for those interested in both learning about the history of Native Americans in journalism and actively participating in media creation. Led by Professor Rubio of the University of Nevada, Renoโ€™s Reynolds School of Journalism, this week-long experience offers participants the opportunity to explore what the Reynolds School has to offer, hear from Indigenous alumni, and create, film, and produce their own stories using professional equipment.

The workshop is limited to 20 participants (two participants per team), so invite a friend or family member to join you for an engaging, collaborative week of storytelling. Best of all, the workshop is completely free.

The first day is open to the public and will focus on the history of Native Americans in journalism and media. Attendees are welcome to bring and use their own equipment. If you have any questions, you can contact Alejandra Rubio at alejandrarubio@unr.edu to register contact April Salas at 928-567-1073.
