1875 Removal
- 1900 Return
Exodus Event

The 1875 Removal - 1900 Return Commemoration is a holiday of remembrance for the time in 1875 when the Yavapai and Apache people were removed by military force from the Verde Valley, and it honors their subsequent return to their homeland around 1900s.  The event is held on the last Saturday of February each year at the Veterans Memorial Park, below Cliff Castle Casino. Activities include a commemorative walk, live cultural entertainment and art-craft-food vendors.

The annual Child Abuse Awareness event is an opportunity for the Yavapai-Apache Nation to heighten awareness about child abuse within the tribal community. The event is held in April at the Heritage Park in the Middle Verde tribal community. Activities include entertainment, youth activities, food and vendors.

Earth Day

The annual Earth Day event is held in April in all tribal communities. Throughout the Earth Day event, tribal staff coordinate activities for tribal members, employees, youth and the Nation’s Montessori School to heighten awareness about the protection of the earth and natural resources. Activities include lunches, presentations, community clean-ups, entertainment and children’s activities.

The annual Veterans Day event is held November 11 at the Veterans Memorial Park, located below Cliff Castle Casino. The Veterans Day ceremony provides tribal veterans with recognition, while honoring all veterans and members of the U.S. armed forces for their service. Activities include the ceremonial flag raising, reading of tribal veterans names as well as the complimentary lunch at Cliff Castle Casino to all veterans.

Native American Week

The annual Native American Week event is held the last week of September ever year. Native American Week is an opportunity to provide the tribal community with cultural-based activities, while educating the surrounding communities about the culture, history and struggles of the Yavapai-Apache Nation. Activities include cultural demonstrations, social dances, fashions shows, dinner and cultural entertainment.

The Yavapai-Apache Nation's Culture Department participates each year in the Agave Roast for Archaeology Week at V Bar V ranch at Beaver Creek. The event includes gathering of the Agave plant, firemaking and preparation of this traditional food staple.

Gathering of the Pai

Annually people from various Yuman Speaking groups gather for celebration of the Pai culture. It is a sharing of language, cultural lifeways, songs, and dances through a reunion of the six Pai tribes:
